Downsides of Using Great Canadian Rebates
Clunky Website
We’re at the point now where a well designed website is essential for most businesses. Unfortunately, Great Canadian Rebates does not offer a well designed site. In addition to a design that appears to be outdated, I have come across a few links that appear to be broken.
There are also some features that you may find on other websites, including a live chat customer service option. GCR offers an email customer service option (membercare@greatcanadianrebates.ca), which isn’t necessarily the easiest way to get your issue resolved.

Great Canadian Rebates vs Rakuten
The biggest competitor of Great Canadian Rebates is Rakuten. While Rakuten has GCR beat in terms of marketing (you may have seen their commercials), and website design, at the end of the day, both websites offer similar services.
You buy online – you earn cash back
Where Great Canadian Rebates outshines Rakuten is with the financial services/credit card offerings. You can really leverage CGR for the purposes of racking up travel miles, and the same can’t be said for Rakuten.
